June Goals

Happy June!

For those of you that know me, you know I'm a planner.  I LOVE having a list.  Sometimes to a point that it is a fault, but that is a story for another day.  My love for lists comes in handy for a lot of things including the grocery store and my constant to-do list.  So for the sake of blogging accountability, I wanted to post my goals for June.  It is really easy for me during baseball season to sit around and stare at the wall all day.  You can only clean a 300 square foot room for so long.  So I am constantly motivating myself to do something besides sit in the cottage and read or watch TV.  I sat down with my necessities for planning monthly goals: my planner and the baseball schedule.  So for the sake of motivation, here are my June Goals:


  1. Finish Three Books: I found this really great Summer Book Challenge at Semi-Charmed Kind of Life.  Megan gave a list of categories and each category is worth a certain number of points.  It is a fun way for me to read some books that I might not have picked on my own!  The challenge started May 1 and ends August 31.  I finished 4 books in May and I'm excited about my picks for June. 
  2. Work Out: I will say that I have been doing better on working out since I got back from home.  Thanks to Jillian Michaels' videos on youtube.  I searched for a gym, but with our weird schedule there weren't classes at times I needed.  And most places don't have month by month options, so youtube has saved me.  My goal is a video at least five times a week.  
  3. Los Gatos Creek Trail: This is a gorgeous trail that is really close to where we live.  It never hurts to be outside and get some fresh air while exercising.  It's starting to get hot, but I'm hoping for a pretty day in June to explore the trail.  If only my sweet puppies where here to take (excuse the depressed dog mom moment).
  4. Downtown Los Gatos: I have grabbed food to go and driven through downtown Los Gatos on our quest to look at pretty houses.  I haven't spent time walking around the precious downtown yet, but I plan on making that happen in June.  
  5. Meal Plan: This is something that I started when we first got here, but I got off when I went home.  I loved how organized I felt when I already had our meals planned out for the week.  So I'm hoping to be more consistent with planning out our meals with June.  
  6. Day Trip to San Francisco: Chris has a total of SIX (well probably six, we still aren't sure about the All-Star break schedule) off days in June.  We will stick with six for now so I can be excited!  I'm hoping that one of these off days will be a day trip to San Francisco.  We have lots of things on our bucket list that need to be checked off in San Francisco.  Any suggestions are appreciated!
  7. Beach Trip: This goes back to the possible six off days in June.  If Chris doesn't make the All Star team AND his manager doesn't schedule practice, we are planning on heading to the beach for a few days.  Since all of this is still up in the air (oh baseball) so I haven't been able to book anything.  So we will see how this works out, but I'm hoping at the least that we will get a day trip to the beach.
  8. Try Two New Recipes: I am in the rut of cooking the same things over and over.  Sorry Chris!  I want to try at least two new recipes in June that we can hopefully add to the rotation to change things up.  Pinterest here I come!
  9. Send 5 Letters to MS: This is something that I want to get in the habit of doing, especially while we are gone.  I always love getting happy mail, but I have never been good about sending letters.  Something about real letters is so much better than texts.  And my sweet sister will be loving on precious kiddos at camp this summer.  There is nothing better than mail at camp.  And now I have an excuse to get some cute stationary.
  10. Organize the Cottage: When you only live in 300 square feet and your husband is on the road pretty much every other week, things can get a little messy.  And this girl does not like messy.  So it is time to reorganize our baskets and put some clothes we aren't wearing in the back of my car.
