Trust Without Borders

If you haven't heard the song "Oceans" by Hillsong, I highly suggest you go listen to it right now.  It is just one of those songs that gets me.  I don't know about you, but God gets me through Christian music and this is one of those songs.

"Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders."

It is such a simple sentence that is anything but simple to live.

I long and I pray to be a person that is able to trust without borders.
But, I always find myself trusting until...

Trusting until things don't go as I had planned.
Trusting until baseball isn't going good.
Trusting until life gets hard.

I trust until I reach a certain border, and then I run, I hide, and I plan.

I catch myself running from God instead of seeking him.
I catch myself hiding from God and not spending time in the word.
I catch myself planning out what I think is best instead of trusting His plan.

It is a vicious cycle, really.  Just when I feel like I am starting to give total control and trust completely, circumstances change and I freak out.  But the great news is, when I catch myself running, hiding, and planning, I can go back to the feet of my Father and ask for His grace.  I don't know about you, but there is something so sweet in that.

There is sweetness in the fact that His plan is so much better than mine.
There is sweetness in the fact that baseball does not define my husband or me.
There is sweetness in the fact that life is going to be hard, but He is always good.

So today, I pray that you will join me in striving to trust without borders.  That you will join me in striving to live without fear of tomorrow.  That you will join me in knowing that His plan is perfect.
