Bread & Wine Project: Chocolate Chip Pound Cake

Today, I am linking up with Rachel for the Bread & Wine Project.  This month's topic is crowd pleasing desserts.  I really love this linkup, so I didn't want to skip out even though we just moved into an extended stay hotel after moving across the country.  It does have a kitchen, but not the type of kitchen you feel sanitary cooking in.  So even though I had great plans of taking pretty pictures of my Chocolate Chip Poundcake, that was when we were living in California and now, a week later, we are in Virginia.  Life happens.  So, I found this picture that looks just like the countless Chocolate Chip Pound Cakes that I have made!

Source
Ingredients:
1 Box of Golden Cake Mix
1 Cup of Sour Cream
1 Cup of Vegetable Oil
1/4 Cup of Water
1 Small Box of Chocolate Instant Pudding
2 Eggs
1/2 Bag of Milk Chocolate Chips

Instructions:
Mix all of the ingredients together except for the Chocolate Chips with a mixer.  Then add the Chocolate Chips and stir with a spoon.  Spray a Pound Cake Pan with Pam.  Bake for 55 minutes on 375 degrees.

How do you make your table a safe place for guests that come into your home?
When I have guests over, I like to keep it as laid back as possible.  I'm a super laid back person, but having guests over can sometimes be stressful and get me in the "make my life and house and meal seem perfect" mode.  I want to strive to keep our home as laid back as possible when guests come over so that it feels like a safe place.  I don't ever want our home to feel like a place of perfection because it is not.  I personally think a laid back atmosphere makes guests feel as if they can bring their real struggles into our home and still be loved.  That they can open up without being judged.  That our home is a place for them to feel at home.  I try to make our table a place for these real, vulnerable conversations to happen free from fancy fine china and napkins you are scared to use.

  5. If a desert has chocolate in it, it takes so much willpower not to eat the whole thing. This post had my mouth watering! I also relate to the desire to have it all perfect. It always leaves me feeling frustrated and like I don't measure up, but I know that my worth doesn't come from how put together everything is but from my creator! Thank you for linking up with us!
