Favorite Date Nights

I don't know about you, but I sure do love a date night with the husband.  My all time favorite are super laid-back dates, so I made my list of favorite date nights in case y'all need some new ideas.  I know we always do!

1.  Getting Ice Cream: One of my absolute favorite dates is going to get ice cream with my husband.  I know, I'm a cheap date! But seriously, some of our best life talk have happened at Sonic.. All I need is some ice cream and I'm happy.

2.  Watching a Movie:  My husband loves going to the movies.  I, on the other hand, would be much happier with a movie at home where falling asleep before the end is acceptable.  But either way, a movie is always a really laid-back date whether it be at home on the couch or at the theater with a tub of popcorn (with Reese Pieces dumped in of course!)

3.  Going Bowling: We got the chance to go bowling with the baseball team as a fundraiser this season, and honestly I had forgotten how much fun bowling is.  We are planning to go again soon for a date because we had the best time! And he loves any opportunity he gets to wear his goofy baseball socks.

4.  Taking a Drive:  One of our favorite things to do is drive around a look at houses.  Before you think we are crazy, 1) it gives us lots of time to talk in the car and 2) we are a little obsessed with HGTV and redoing houses.  So it is always fun to drive and see houses around town that we would love to fix up!  We also love to drive around the new cities that baseball takes us to see different neighborhoods that might be different than home.  So, if you see us out slow driving in your neighborhood, no we aren't stalking you.  But we may be stalking your house...

5.  Walking the Children Dogs: Our dogs are like children to us, so any time we get the chance to talk them to the park or on a walk around the neighborhood we do! It is always a fun outing when the Stratton pups get to tag along.

So, what are some of your favorite date nights? We are always looking for new and fun adventures?

  1. What great ideas! Andrew isn't much of a movie watcher, but I LOVE them, so I think we may have to have a movie date soon! And yes, I totally understand your HGTV obsession. I love looking at houses in Oxford...makes me wish I had my own show :)

  6. I have to admit that my husband and I truly love movie date nights!
Also since we live in a place without theaters, places to get ice cream, or any restaurants.....we rely a lot on outside activities for dates! I actually really love that, because it means we go and see the sunset regularly...hike a lot, and enjoy God's creation!
Thanks for the ideas and the reminder that being intentional about dates is so important!

    1. I love outside dates as well! It is always great to be outside enjoying God's creation with the person you love! I definitely agree that being intentional with dates is so important, but sometimes hard to make a priority when life gets busy!
