Where are you, Offseason?

Hello Friends!

For my fellow baseball wives out there, you know that the offseason is quickly approaching.  For my non-Minor League readers....the offseason starts in September!!

August is always the slowest month of the season for me.  We are SO close to the offseason and the rest of the season has flown by, but something about August makes times seem to slow down to a standstill.  I've been praying through the antsy-ness that always comes in August.  I'm striving to enjoy the few weeks or so of the season, rather than rush through to the offseason.  I really do miss baseball during the offseason, but by month six I'm chomping at the bit to get home.

Oh the many things that I'm excited for this offseason...

Mornings:  I have always been a morning person, but when you go to bed at 2:00 AM mornings turn into deep sleep.  Seriously, one of my favorite things about the offseason is getting on a normal schedule back to enjoying my mornings.

Routine: I am a girl who loves routines.  It's pretty much impossible to get into a routine during baseball season when you are on the road every other week, which is probably good for me.  But at this point, I'm craving a routine.

Home: Honestly, living in a hotel is for the birds.  My hatred for clutter is at an all time high since our clutter is about our only option in this hotel room.  Plus, I just love our house in Tupelo.

Cooking: Since cooking in our hotel room is out of the question, I'm itching to get back in the kitchen.

Fall: I LOVE that the offseason is during Fall and Football season.  I'm not sure if I love fall/winter because it is when we are home or if I love being home during fall/winter...if that makes sense.  Seriously, I'm ready for my wardrobe to consist of only boots, leggings, and big sweaters.

Holidays: I am beyond thankful that all of our favorite holidays are during the offseason.  I can't imagine not being home for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

So, the Flying Squirrels clinched a playoff spot last night extending this season a little longer (which I really am excited about), the Strattons should be heading to Mississippi in just a few short weeks and that, my friends, makes me extremely happy!

Speaking of playoffs, since we aren't going to be in the playoffs we are thinking about going to a game.. Let's just say Richmond is on our mind.. My husband is all about the blate!!
