Encouraging Others // Wednesday's Words

Welcome to another week of Wednesday's Words with Jenni and me! We are so excited to have you and can't wait to read your words on encouragement.  Wednesday's Words is a weekly linkup with topics on the last Wednesday of each month!  We hope that this linkup serves as a way to encourage our blog community and share what God is teaching us!

So this week we are talking about what God has taught us about encouraging others.  I personally feel like encouraging others is a huge part of our walk with the Lord.  Encouraging others is something that comes pretty naturally for me, but I struggle with being intentional with encouraging others when life gets in the way.  If I am intentional about making time to encourage others, it comes naturally for me.  It is the struggle with setting side aside from life to make time for others which is really the important thing.  Why is it so easy to get caught up in the unimportant things like having a clean house and perfect dinner instead of investing in others?

When I started writing this post, I looked up verses that talk about encouraging others and this verse in Hebrews really stuck out to me.  I love that the Bible talks so much about encouraging each others because it makes me realize how big of a part of our life it should be.  Encouraging others is not just something that we should try to make time for.  It is something that should be a priority in our lives.

Think about all the times that you needed encouragement even if it was just in a small way.  What if we all strived to fill that need for encouragement for somebody else?

What does encouraging others look like for you? For me, it is intentionally seeking out friends that need encouragement.  It is as simple as a text or call to catch up and encourage them wherever they might be in life.  Encouraging others looks like being an encouraging wife rather than nagging.  When it comes down to it, encouraging others is something that should be a priority and a lot of times isn't in my life.

My prayer is that we strive to be encouragers to our spouses, friends, neighbors, and coworkers.  That we be the light they need in dark times or just the small pick me up after a rough morning getting out of the house.  I pray that we can be the light of Christ by encouraging and motivating others.  Think about all the "acts of love and good works" that will come as a result!

Now it is your turn to share your thoughts on encouraging others!
